VCS Methodology VM0034: Canadian Forest Carbon Offset Methodology, v2.0

Projects are located in Canada with a start date after 29 November 2007 and comply with the applicable provincial emission-offset regulation (BC EOR or equivalent). Six forest project categories are eligible: Afforestation/Reforestation/Revegetation (ARR), four Improved Forest Management variants (IFM-RIL reduced-impact logging, IFM-LtPF logged-to-protected forest, IFM-ERA extended rotation age, IFM-LtHP low-to-high productivity), and Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD-APD). Areas must meet the national forest definition and category-specific prior-use rules (ARR: 10-year non-forest period; IFM/REDD: forest land at commencement). Planting must use genetically diverse, productive seed stock; no significant hydrological impacts.
