Projects must capture biogenic CO2 from eligible biomass feedstocks at point-source (biomass power, CHP, biogas, EFW facilities) and durably store it >1000 years via physical/chemical trapping. For waste feedstocks with mixed biogenic-fossil carbon, biogenic fraction must be eligible per Biomass Feedstock Module v1.3, market leakage accounted for, sustainability criteria met, and robust waste hierarchy demonstrated. Co-firing with fossil fuels allowed if upstream/combustion emissions accounted for or if fossil CO2 is captured and stored with biogenic CO2.
